Diego's palate reconstruction surgery can't wait - please help us cover the bill

Diego was diagnosed with an aortic valve defect in November. The surgeon at Anaheim University Hospital recommended palate reconstruction surgery, and He is scheduled for February. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $11,000, and after what my insurance will pay we're still $5,450 short.
my father has been in and out of Anaheim University Hospital since November. The doctors say an aortic valve defect will get worse without palate reconstruction surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $11,000 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Diego struggles with daily life and can't drive. His family has taken turns caring for him, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Rehabilitation is expected to take about 6 weeks. During that time Diego won't be able to drive, so the costs keep growing.
