Dhaka cyclone relief - the Marketplace district
Neighbors in the Marketplace district are rebuilding after the cyclone; every contribution goes to materials and supplies.

The cyclone hit the Marketplace district on 16 May. My home was one of 43 damaged, and 10 families are still in temporary shelter at a borrowed warehouse.
The first few days we shared what little we had. Now the cleanup has started, but we've no money for materials and winter or the rainy season is coming.
Schools in the area have been closed, and the clinic lost its cold storage for vaccines. We're a small community of working families who have never asked for help before.
We have formed a volunteer committee, and I'm the treasurer, so I'll post receipts for everything we buy.
Funds go to building materials, water purification supplies, bedding, and food for families still in shelters.
Where the $700 goes:
• Food parcels for displaced families: $200
• Bedding, blankets and mattresses: $90
• Roofing sheets and timber: $410
I hope life is good to you.

Wishing you the best. This could happen to any of us. My husband and I read this together. Love from Soweto.
Hope things get better soon, Shefali. Hope you get there. We're a small family in Nagpur but we're thinking of you
Hope things get better soon, Shefali. It takes guts to ask. Well done. I went through something like this 10 years ago and strangers helped me out. Greetings from Rabat
