Devi needs a prosthetic leg - help us make it happen
Devi needs a prosthetic leg that the health system won't fund; the cost is $1,200.

I live with profound hearing loss. My occupational therapist at the Soweto Mobility Clinic has assessed me and recommended a prosthetic leg. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $1,200.
My current equipment is 12 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined me to home for 5 weeks.
With the right equipment I could get to the shops and visit friends. It would change my everyday life and my ability to work from home.
We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest.
I'll pay the supplier directly from the funds, and I'll post a photo once the equipment is delivered.
Where the $1,200 goes:
• prosthetic leg: $1,100
• Fitting and training sessions: $30
• Delivery and set-up: $25
• First-year servicing plan: $45
Please ask me anything in the questions section. I'll answer honestly and quickly.
