Derek's stomach cancer treatment fund
6 rounds of treatment are planned at San Francisco University Hospital; we're asking for help with the costs insurance doesn't cover.
🇺🇸 United States703 views
Derek was diagnosed with stomach cancer in August. The oncology team at San Francisco University Hospital has planned 6 rounds of treatment, starting in November. He will be away from work for about 4 weeks.
Derek is 48, worked as a cleaner at a hospital until August, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to San Francisco University Hospital 3 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders.
I'll post every invoice and receipt as an update so donors can follow where each gift goes.
Where the $12,250 goes:
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $8,250
• Scans and lab work: $1,250
• Transport to San Francisco University Hospital: $990
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $810
• Household costs while unable to work: $950
Every share and every dollar helps.
