Depok flood relief - the Lakeview settlement
The flood damaged 20 homes in the Lakeview settlement. We're raising funds for repairs, supplies and temporary shelter.

The flood hit the Lakeview settlement on 11 June. My home was one of 20 damaged, and 9 families are still in temporary shelter at a mosque and church hall.
The first few days we shared what little we had. Now the cleanup has started, but we've no money for materials and winter or the rainy season is coming.
Schools in the area have been closed, and the clinic lost its cold storage for vaccines. We're a small community of working families who have never asked for help before.
We have formed a volunteer committee, and I'm the treasurer, so I'll post receipts for everything we buy.
We buy supplies locally and in bulk, so the money goes further. Receipts and photos will be posted in updates.
Where the $1,050 goes:
• Roofing sheets and timber: $720
• Food parcels for displaced families: $210
• Bedding, blankets and mattresses: $120
Please ask me anything in the questions section. I'll answer honestly and quickly.

is there anything that isn't money that would help Hendra?
Thank you. If you're in Depok I'll say if something practical comes up. For now sharing this is great. Let me know if you want more detail.
You're not alone, Hendra. It takes guts to ask. Well done. Don't be hard on yourself for asking. All the best.
Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Hendra.
Sure. The biggest one is roofing sheets and timber, $720. The rest is in the list at the bottom of the post and I'll upload receipts as I pay each one. Ask me anything else.
Thanks for sharing this. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry. Take care.
Sending strength, Hendra. Projects like this are what make a place worth living in. I have a 17 year old who wants to send good wishes too. Greetings from Novosibirsk.
thinking of you, Hendra. Great idea, hope you get there. Please keep us posted. Blessings.
