Dennis was diagnosed with an aortic valve defect in August. The surgeon at Saint Catherine Hospital recommended a craniotomy, and He is scheduled for December. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $8,750, and after what the government subsidy will pay we're still $6,050 short.
my son has been in and out of Saint Catherine Hospital since August. The doctors say an aortic valve defect will get worse without a craniotomy. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $8,750 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Dennis struggles with daily life and can't drive. His family has taken turns caring for him, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Rehabilitation is expected to take about 8 weeks. During that time Dennis won't be able to drive, so the costs keep growing.
