Delphine was diagnosed with a cleft palate needing repair in March. The surgeon at Boulogne-Billancourt Community Hospital recommended valve repair surgery, and She is scheduled for June. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $6,500, and after what my employer's plan will pay we're still $4,950 short. my mother has been in and out of Boulogne-Billancourt Community Hospital since March. The doctors say a cleft palate needing repair will get worse without valve repair surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $6,500 is more than we can find. While we wait, Delphine struggles with daily life and can't look after the children alone. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there. Rehabilitation is expected to take about 7 weeks. During that time Delphine won't be able to look after the children alone, so the costs keep growing.
