Defne needs a cochlear implant processor upgrade - help us make it happen
A cochlear implant processor upgrade would give Defne independence - we're $200 away.
Anywhere in the world949 views
Defne lives with multiple sclerosis. The occupational therapist at Istanbul General Hospital has assessed her and recommended a cochlear implant processor upgrade. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $200.
Her current equipment is 9 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined her to home for 3 weeks.
With the right equipment Defne could speak with the people around her. It would change everyday life for the whole family.
We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest.
I'll pay the supplier directly from the funds, and I'll post a photo once the equipment is delivered.
Where the $200 goes:
• Delivery and set-up: $20
• Fitting and training sessions: $75
• First-year servicing plan: $105
I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.

Sending love, Tolga. Hope the doctors have good news. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double.
