David's prostate cancer treatment fund

David is facing prostate cancer and the cost of treatment, travel and care at home is far beyond what the family can cover.

David was diagnosed with prostate cancer in May. The oncology team at London Cancer Centre has planned 4 rounds of treatment, starting in September. He will be away from work for about 3 weeks. David is 25, worked as a bank teller until May, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to London Cancer Centre 5 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly. We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders. Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment. Where the $9,650 goes: • Household costs while unable to work: $1,150 • Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $630 • Scans and lab work: $1,600 • Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $6,270 Thank you so much.

Updates from Lillian

  1. Update from London: we've booked the dates and paid the deposit. We're at 34% of the goal. Thank you for believing in us.

  2. 18% there. the plan for scans and lab work is now scheduled. Thank you.
