Darragh lives with multiple sclerosis. The occupational therapist at Kilkenny General Hospital has assessed him and recommended a cochlear implant processor upgrade. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $6,600. His current equipment is 13 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined him to home for 4 weeks. With the right equipment Darragh could go to school independently. It would change everyday life for the whole family. We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest. Funds go toward the equipment, delivery, fitting and a year of servicing. Where the $6,600 goes: • cochlear implant processor upgrade: $6,000 • Fitting and training sessions: $300 • Delivery and set-up: $65 • First-year servicing plan: $235 Thank you so much.

Updates from Tadhg

  1. Thank you all. We're at 58% now ($3,852). I'm honestly stunned. I made the first payment toward first-year servicing plan.

  2. Good news. Because of your gifts ($3,482 in total) we've started the first stage. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.

  3. Small update. $2,017 so far, I met with the supplier and confirmed the amounts.
