Danielle is the first person in the family to go to university. She is studying an electrical engineering diploma at Riverside University, and is two terms away from graduating. She has worked as a shop assistant to pay the way, but this term the hours were cut and there's an unpaid balance of $4,350.
The registrar has said Danielle can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. Danielle has a 3.6 average, and an academic advisor has written in support.
Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support the younger siblings. Without enrolling this term Danielle would lose her place and scholarship eligibility.
Danielle isn't asking for a handout - She wants to finish what She started and help the next student.
Everything raised goes to the university's accounts office toward the outstanding balance and the final term's fees.
