Cyclone in Varanasi: help the Greenfield settlement rebuild
Neighbors in the Greenfield settlement are rebuilding after the cyclone; every contribution goes to materials and supplies.
🇮🇳 Uttar Pradesh, India1,698 views
The cyclone hit the Greenfield settlement on 4 February. My home was one of 80 damaged, and 12 families are still in temporary shelter at the sports club.
The first few days we shared what little we had. Now the cleanup has started, but we've no money for materials and winter or the rainy season is coming.
Schools in the area have been closed, and the clinic lost its cold storage for vaccines. We're a small community of working families who have never asked for help before.
We have formed a volunteer committee, and I'm the treasurer, so I'll post receipts for everything we buy.
Funds go to building materials, water purification supplies, bedding, and food for families still in shelters.
Where the $900 goes:
• Roofing sheets and timber: $310
• Tools and labor for repairs: $300
• Bedding, blankets and mattresses: $170
• Clean water and purification supplies: $120
I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.

Good luck, Meena. Shared this with my family. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it. God bless
is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Meena
It's all in the list in the story. roofing sheets and timber is the big one at $310, I'll post a receipt when it's paid.
Wishing you the best, Meena. Shared this with my family. After 7 years in hospitality I know how hard it's to ask for anything. Greetings from Sheffield
Take care. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. Don't give up. Blessings.
Hope it all works out. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. I went through something like this 12 years ago and strangers helped me out.
Wishing you peace. Great idea, hope you get there. My neighbor had a similar thing happen so this one hit home. God bless
