The cyclone hit the Eastgate district on 11 September. My home was one of 55 damaged, and 4 families are still in temporary shelter at a mosque and church hall. The first few days we shared what little we had. Now the cleanup has started, but we've no money for materials and winter or the rainy season is coming. Schools in the area have been closed, and the clinic lost its cold storage for vaccines. We're a small community of working families who have never asked for help before. We have formed a volunteer committee, and I'm the treasurer, so I'll post receipts for everything we buy. Funds go to building materials, water purification supplies, bedding, and food for families still in shelters. Where the $950 goes: • Bedding, blankets and mattresses: $210 • Clean water and purification supplies: $90 • Food parcels for displaced families: $300 • Tools and labor for repairs: $350 Whatever you can give, even just sharing this page, means a lot.

Updates from Vaibhav

  1. Update from Pune: we've booked the dates and paid the deposit. We're at 12% of the goal. Thank you for believing in us.

  2. We're at 21% thanks to 7 of you. the plan for bedding, blankets and mattresses is now scheduled. More news soon. - Vaibhav

  3. Thank you all. We're at 38% now ($361). I'm honestly stunned. I made the first payment toward clean water and purification supplies.

I hope things turn around soon. After 28 years in engineering I know how hard it's to ask for anything. Take care!
