Could you share an hour a week with Ping?
An hour a week, a chat, and a cup of tea - that is all Ping is asking for.

I'm writing for my neighbor Ping, who's 77. Ping lives alone in Sacramento, and lost a son last year. The nearest family lives on the other side of the country.
Ping loves knitting, and would enjoy someone to chat with. An hour a week, perhaps on Thursday afternoon, would mean the world. We can also arrange a phone call if you can't visit in person.
All visitors will be introduced by me and I'll be there at the first meeting. I'll share references and, if you'd like, a short orientation from the local befriending charity.
No special skills are needed - just kindness and patience.
Whatever you can give, even just sharing this page, means a lot.

Hope it all works out, Yong. It takes guts to ask. Well done.
Thinking of you and your family, Yong. Your post was clear and honest. Don't be hard on yourself for asking.
Thinking of you and your family, Yong. Hope the doctors have good news. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it
sending strength. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too!
