Could you share an hour a week with Julian?

Looking for a friendly person in Kelowna to visit Julian once a week.

I'm writing for my neighbor Julian, who's 77. Julian lives alone in Kelowna, and lost a spouse of many years last year. The nearest family lives on the other side of the country. Julian loves crossword puzzles, and would enjoy someone to chat with. An hour a week, perhaps on Friday afternoon, would mean the world. We can also arrange a phone call if you can't visit in person. All visitors will be introduced by me and I'll be there at the first meeting. I'll share references and, if you'd like, a short orientation from the local befriending charity. No special skills are needed - just kindness and patience. Thank you so much.
