Could you share an hour a week with Janet?
An hour a week, a chat, and a cup of tea - that is all Janet is asking for.

I'm writing for my neighbor Janet, who's 74. Janet lives alone in Kasarani, and lost a spouse of many years last year. The nearest family lives on the other side of the country.
Janet loves gardening, and would enjoy someone to chat with. An hour a week, perhaps on Wednesday afternoon, would mean the world. We can also arrange a phone call if you can't visit in person.
All visitors will be introduced by me and I'll be there at the first meeting. I'll share references and, if you'd like, a short orientation from the local befriending charity.
No special skills are needed - just kindness and patience.
Thank you so much.

You're not alone, Bakari. Hope you get there
Look after yourselves too, caregivers need rest. The breakdown of costs made it easy to trust. All the best.
so sorry you're going through this, Bakari. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier.
You're not alone. Your post was clear and honest. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too. Blessings
Hope things get better soon, Bakari. I hope things turn around soon. My daughter saw me on my phone and now she wants to give her pocket money!
