Could you share an hour a week with Jackson?
Looking for a friendly person in Bakersfield to visit Jackson once a week.

I'm writing for my neighbor Jackson, who's 75. Jackson lives alone in Bakersfield, and lost a lifelong friend last year. The nearest family lives 704 kilometers away.
Jackson loves baking, and would enjoy someone to chat with. An hour a week, perhaps on Saturday afternoon, would mean the world. We can also arrange a phone call if you can't visit in person.
All visitors will be introduced by me and I'll be there at the first meeting. I'll share references and, if you'd like, a short orientation from the local befriending charity.
No special skills are needed - just kindness and patience.
Glad we found this place.

You're not alone, Howard. Hope you get there. My daughter saw me on my phone and now she wants to give her pocket money.
Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. Thinking of Bakersfield.
Hope the doctors have good news. Don't give up!
you're not alone, Howard. Shared this with my family. Our whole street has been following this since the weekend
Wishing you the best. This could happen to any of us. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like. Take care.
