Could you share an hour a week with Alejandro?

An hour a week, a chat, and a cup of tea - that's all Alejandro is asking for.

I'm writing for my neighbor Alejandro, who's 91. Alejandro lives alone in Iztapalapa, and lost a son last year. The nearest family lives several hours away. Alejandro loves cricket, and would enjoy someone to chat with. An hour a week, perhaps on Saturday afternoon, would mean the world. We can also arrange a phone call if you can't visit in person. All visitors will be introduced by me and I'll be there at the first meeting. I'll share references and, if you'd like, a short orientation from the local befriending charity. No special skills are needed - just kindness and patience. Thank you for reading my story.

  • Keep going. Looking forward to the next update. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too. Greetings from Sacramento.

Hang in there, Eduardo. This could happen to any of us. My husband and I read this together. Blessings

      • Thinking of you. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. My father had a similar thing happen so this one hit home.
