Companionship wanted: Waweru's chess and a cup of tea

Waweru lives alone and has no family nearby; a weekly hour of conversation would transform the week.

I'm writing for my neighbor Waweru, who's 87. Waweru lives alone in Jinja, and lost a spouse of many years last year. The nearest family lives 421 kilometers away. Waweru loves chess, and would enjoy someone to chat with. An hour a week, perhaps on Monday afternoon, would mean the world. We can also arrange a phone call if you can't visit in person. All visitors will be introduced by me and I'll be there at the first meeting. I'll share references and, if you'd like, a short orientation from the local befriending charity. No special skills are needed - just kindness and patience. If you can't give, please share this page. It does reach people.
