I'm writing for my neighbor Maria, who's 81. Maria lives alone in Bakersfield, and lost a sister last year. The nearest family lives on the other side of the country. Maria loves gardening, and would enjoy someone to chat with. An hour a week, perhaps on Friday afternoon, would mean the world. We can also arrange a phone call if you can't visit in person.
