Clean water and shade for Leeds: restoring Cedar Creek
Help us clean and replant Cedar Creek before the November planting window closes.
🇬🇧 England, United Kingdom1,804 views
Cedar Creek has been used as an informal dump for years. This August, 79 neighbors turned up for a first cleanup, filling 85 bags in a single morning. Now we want to restore it for good.
We have a plan agreed with the district council, including native species selected by a local botanist.
The area floods more each year, and fish have returned for the first time in a decade after our first cleanup. Restoring it will protect homes and bring back shade.
All the labor is volunteered. We just need materials.
Funds buy saplings, gloves, bags, hire of a skip, and signage.
Where the $2,450 goes:
• Native saplings and stakes: $1,400
• Tools and protective gear: $230
• Waste removal and skip hire: $550
• Signage and educational materials: $270
Thank you so much.

Thinking of you, Parker. Hope you get there. We're a small family in Nairobi but we're thinking of you.
Wishing you the best, Parker. Projects like this are what make a place worth living in. My mother had a similar thing happen so this one hit home.
hope it all works out, Parker. It takes guts to ask. Well done. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. Take care.
good luck, Parker. Shared it with a few friends. My daughter saw me on my phone and now she wants to give her pocket money.
Sending good thoughts, Parker. Gave what I could, wish it was more. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. Greetings from Chennai
