Cedar Creek has been used as an informal dump for years. This March, 118 neighbors turned up for a first cleanup, filling 121 bags in a single morning. Now we want to restore it for good. We have a plan agreed with the district council, including native species selected by a local botanist. The area floods more each year, and fish have returned for the first time in a decade after our first cleanup. Restoring it will protect homes and bring back shade. All the labor is volunteered. We just need materials. We'll post planting day photos and a count of every sapling planted. Where the $200 goes: • Waste removal and skip hire: $80 • Signage and educational materials: $35 • Tools and protective gear: $85 Thank you so much.

  • is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Indira.

    • Sure. The biggest one is waste removal and skip hire, $80. The rest is in the list at the bottom of the post and I'll upload receipts as I pay each one. Thanks, that means a lot.

  • thinking of you, Indira. This could happen to any of us. God bless.

    • Hope this works out for you. Sent it to 12 people at work. Greetings from Tlaquepaque

      • Rooting for you, Indira. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Love from Juazeiro do Norte!

        • Keep going. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. After 10 years in farming I know how hard it's to ask for anything. God bless

          • Wishing you peace, Indira. Hope you get there. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. God bless
