Clean water and shade for Kochi: restoring the Acacia hillside
Help us clean and replant the Acacia hillside before the January planting window closes.
🇮🇳 India1,305 views
The Acacia hillside has been used as an informal dump for years. This October, 102 neighbors turned up for a first cleanup, filling 116 bags in a single morning. Now we want to restore it for good.
We have a plan agreed with the local forestry office, including native species selected by a local botanist.
The area floods more each year, and fish have returned for the first time in a decade after our first cleanup. Restoring it will protect homes and bring back shade.
All the labor is volunteered. We just need materials.
We'll post planting day photos and a count of every sapling planted.
Where the $400 goes:
• Native saplings and stakes: $200
• Tools and protective gear: $30
• Waste removal and skip hire: $120
• Signage and educational materials: $50
Please ask me anything in the questions section. I'll answer honestly and quickly.

Take care. Projects like this are what make a place worth living in. Thinking of Kochi
Best of luck. Looking forward to the next update. We're a small family in Saket but we're thinking of you.
