Clean water and shade for Boulogne-Billancourt: restoring the Cedar canal
A neighborhood-led restoration of the Cedar canal needs $1,500 for saplings and equipment.
Anywhere in the world379 views
The Cedar canal has been used as an informal dump for years. This August, 52 neighbors turned up for a first cleanup, filling 100 bags in a single morning. Now we want to restore it for good.
We have a plan agreed with the municipal water board, including native species selected by a local botanist.
The area floods more each year, and fish have returned for the first time in a decade after our first cleanup. Restoring it will protect homes and bring back shade.
All the labor is volunteered. We just need materials.
We'll post planting day photos and a count of every sapling planted.
Where the $1,500 goes:
• Native saplings and stakes: $590
• Tools and protective gear: $510
• Waste removal and skip hire: $210
• Signage and educational materials: $190
I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.

Best of luck. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. After 18 years in engineering I know how hard it's to ask for anything
shared it with a few friends. After 6 years in hospitality I know how hard it's to ask for anything. Love from Hồ Chí Minh City.
