Clean streets and rivers for Springfield: restoring the Sycamore hillside
Help us clean and replant the Sycamore hillside before the September planting window closes.
🇺🇸 Springfield, Missouri, United States1,215 views
The Sycamore hillside has been used as an informal dump for years. This July, 59 neighbors turned up for a first cleanup, filling 144 bags in a single morning. Now we want to restore it for good.
We have a plan agreed with the city parks department, including native species selected by a local botanist.
The area floods more each year, and fish have returned for the first time in a decade after our first cleanup. Restoring it will protect homes and bring back shade.
All the labor is volunteered. We just need materials.
Funds buy saplings, gloves, bags, hire of a skip, and signage.
Where the $2,000 goes:
• Native saplings and stakes: $1,400
• Tools and protective gear: $320
• Signage and educational materials: $280
Glad we found this place.

Great idea, hope you get there. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it. Take care
Hope things get better soon, Samuel. Hope this works out for you. I went through something like this 9 years ago and strangers helped me out!
Praying for you, Samuel. Shared this with my family. My husband and I read this together. Love from Duque de Caxias
Thinking of you. Hope you get there. My neighbor had a similar thing happen so this one hit home. Greetings from Dharan
Keep going, Samuel. Gave what I could, wish it was more. I hope September is when things finally get easier.
