Clean streets and rivers for San Diego: restoring Harmony Creek
A neighborhood-led restoration of Harmony Creek needs $1,300 for saplings and equipment.
🇺🇸 San Diego, California, United States1,157 views
Harmony Creek has been used as an informal dump for years. This August, 30 neighbors turned up for a first cleanup, filling 56 bags in a single morning. Now we want to restore it for good.
We have a plan agreed with the municipal water board, including native species selected by a local botanist.
The area floods more each year, and fish have returned for the first time in a decade after our first cleanup. Restoring it will protect homes and bring back shade.
All the labor is volunteered. We just need materials.
We'll post planting day photos and a count of every sapling planted.
Where the $1,300 goes:
• Tools and protective gear: $600
• Signage and educational materials: $290
• Waste removal and skip hire: $410
I'll pay this kindness forward the moment I'm able to.

Stay strong. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Wish I lived closer to Katowice so I could bring a meal. Love from Moscow
