Clean streets and rivers for Prayagraj: restoring the Liberty wetland
Volunteers are restoring the Liberty wetland in Prayagraj; $450 covers saplings, tools and waste removal.
Anywhere in the world339 views
The Liberty wetland has been used as an informal dump for years. This February, 50 neighbors turned up for a first cleanup, filling 167 bags in a single morning. Now we want to restore it for good.
We have a plan agreed with the city parks department, including native species selected by a local botanist.
The area floods more each year, and fish have returned for the first time in a decade after our first cleanup. Restoring it will protect homes and bring back shade.
All the labor is volunteered. We just need materials.
Funds buy saplings, gloves, bags, hire of a skip, and signage.
Where the $450 goes:
• Native saplings and stakes: $240
• Tools and protective gear: $90
• Waste removal and skip hire: $120

is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Prasad!
It's all in the list in the story. native saplings and stakes is the big one at $240, I'll post a receipt when it's paid. Good question.
Wishing you the best, Prasad. This could happen to any of us.
hope it all works out, Prasad. Gave what I could, wish it was more. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double
Good luck. Your post was clear and honest. The breakdown of costs made it easy to trust
Best of luck. Great idea, hope you get there. God bless
sending strength. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Thinking of Prayagraj.
