The Liberty riverbank has been used as an informal dump for years. This January, 56 neighbors turned up for a first cleanup, filling 52 bags in a single morning. Now we want to restore it for good. We have a plan agreed with the municipal water board, including native species selected by a local botanist. The area floods more each year, and fish have returned for the first time in a decade after our first cleanup. Restoring it will protect homes and bring back shade. All the labor is volunteered. We just need materials. Funds buy saplings, gloves, bags, hire of a skip, and signage. Where the $350 goes: • Tools and protective gear: $115 • Native saplings and stakes: $140 • Waste removal and skip hire: $95 Thanks for reading all this.

Updates from Senthil

  1. Good news. Because of your gifts ($150 in total) we've booked the dates and paid the deposit. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely. - Senthil

  2. Wanted to say thank you properly. 26% funded and the plan for native saplings and stakes is now scheduled.

  3. Quick update: $15 raised so far (4%). I met with the nursery and confirmed the amounts. Receipts coming as soon as I have them.
