Clean streets and rivers for Bogra: restoring the Unity canal
A neighborhood-led restoration of the Unity canal needs $150 for saplings and equipment.
🇧🇩 Bogra, Rajshahi, Bangladesh494 views
The Unity canal has been used as an informal dump for years. This July, 104 neighbors turned up for a first cleanup, filling 200 bags in a single morning. Now we want to restore it for good.
We have a plan agreed with the district council, including native species selected by a local botanist.
The area floods more each year, and fish have returned for the first time in a decade after our first cleanup. Restoring it will protect homes and bring back shade.
All the labor is volunteered. We just need materials.
Funds buy saplings, gloves, bags, hire of a skip, and signage.
Where the $150 goes:
• Signage and educational materials: $30
• Waste removal and skip hire: $55
• Tools and protective gear: $65
Thank you so much.

Best of luck, Asif. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. Read this on the bus and kept thinking about it all day.
this could happen to any of us. After 29 years in teaching I know how hard it's to ask for anything.
Thinking of you, Asif. Hope the build day goes well, wish I lived closer. My neighbor in Casablanca donated after I showed her your page. God bless
Hang in there, Asif. I hope things turn around soon. My daughter saw me on my phone and now she wants to give her pocket money. All the best
Praying for you. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. My husband and I read this together
