Clean streets and rivers for Birmingham: restoring the Jacaranda wetland
Help us clean and replant the Jacaranda wetland before the April planting window closes.
🇺🇸 United States1,976 views
The Jacaranda wetland has been used as an informal dump for years. This January, 82 neighbors turned up for a first cleanup, filling 141 bags in a single morning. Now we want to restore it for good.
We have a plan agreed with the city parks department, including native species selected by a local botanist.
The area floods more each year, and fish have returned for the first time in a decade after our first cleanup. Restoring it will protect homes and bring back shade.
All the labor is volunteered. We just need materials.
We'll post planting day photos and a count of every sapling planted.
Where the $1,850 goes:
• Native saplings and stakes: $860
• Waste removal and skip hire: $680
• Tools and protective gear: $310
Every share and every dollar helps.

Rooting for you, Jaxon. Hope you get there. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too.
Take care. Hope this works out for you. I hope April is when things finally get easier. Take care.
Sending good thoughts, Jaxon. Projects like this are what make a place worth living in. After 22 years in retail I know how hard it's to ask for anything.
hang in there, Jaxon. Hope this works out for you. My neighbor in Bergamo donated after I showed her your page. God bless.
