Clean streets and rivers for Aurangabad: restoring the Maple canal
A neighborhood-led restoration of the Maple canal needs $250 for saplings and equipment.
Anywhere in the world1,317 views
The Maple canal has been used as an informal dump for years. This April, 116 neighbors turned up for a first cleanup, filling 192 bags in a single morning. Now we want to restore it for good.
We have a plan agreed with the municipal water board, including native species selected by a local botanist.
The area floods more each year, and fish have returned for the first time in a decade after our first cleanup. Restoring it will protect homes and bring back shade.
All the labor is volunteered. We just need materials.
Funds buy saplings, gloves, bags, hire of a skip, and signage.
Where the $250 goes:
• Tools and protective gear: $115
• Native saplings and stakes: $130
• Signage and educational materials: $5
I hope life is good to you.

Stay strong, Ashok. Hope the build day goes well, wish I lived closer. After 10 years in logistics I know how hard it's to ask for anything. All the best.
Good luck, Ashok. This could happen to any of us. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry.
