Clean streams for Rockford: restoring the Baobab hillside
Help us clean and replant the Baobab hillside before the November planting window closes.
🇺🇸 United States2,229 views
The Baobab hillside has been used as an informal dump for years. This August, 59 neighbors turned up for a first cleanup, filling 41 bags in a single morning. Now we want to restore it for good.
We have a plan agreed with the local forestry office, including native species selected by a local botanist.
The area floods more each year, and fish have returned for the first time in a decade after our first cleanup. Restoring it will protect homes and bring back shade.
All the labor is volunteered. We just need materials.
Funds buy saplings, gloves, bags, hire of a skip, and signage.
Where the $2,600 goes:
• Native saplings and stakes: $1,450
• Tools and protective gear: $400
• Waste removal and skip hire: $570
• Signage and educational materials: $180
Every share and every dollar helps.

Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Caroline!
Everything on the list is an amount I've been quoted or invoiced. native saplings and stakes comes first ($1,450) and I'll update the page as each thing gets paid.
Praying for you, Caroline. Gave what I could, wish it was more. Blessings
Take care. Hope this works out for you. Thinking of Rockford!
Keep going, Caroline. It takes guts to ask. Well done. My husband and I read this together. Blessings.
This could happen to any of us. Greetings from Contagem!
Wishing you the best. Shared it with a few friends. After 22 years in teaching I know how hard it's to ask for anything.
