Clean streams for Nnewi: restoring the Cedar hillside
Help us clean and replant the Cedar hillside before the January planting window closes.
🇳🇬 Nnewi, Anambra, Nigeria227 views
The Cedar hillside has been used as an informal dump for years. This September, 56 neighbors turned up for a first cleanup, filling 164 bags in a single morning. Now we want to restore it for good.
We have a plan agreed with the city parks department, including native species selected by a local botanist.
The area floods more each year, and fish have returned for the first time in a decade after our first cleanup. Restoring it will protect homes and bring back shade.
All the labor is volunteered. We just need materials.
Funds buy saplings, gloves, bags, hire of a skip, and signage.
Where the $250 goes:
• Native saplings and stakes: $70
• Tools and protective gear: $80
• Waste removal and skip hire: $55
• Signage and educational materials: $45
Whatever you can give, even just sharing this page, means a lot.

Stay strong. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Don't be hard on yourself for asking. Greetings from Kyiv.
hang in there. Gave what I could, wish it was more. The breakdown of costs made it easy to trust. Blessings.
thinking of you. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it. God bless
Gave what I could, wish it was more. Our whole street has been following this since the weekend. Thinking of Nnewi
So sorry you're going through this. Hope you get there. My neighbor in Jakarta donated after I showed her your page.
