Clean streams for Manchester: restoring the Baobab riverbank
Help us clean and replant the Baobab riverbank before the November planting window closes.
🇬🇧 United Kingdom386 views
The Baobab riverbank has been used as an informal dump for years. This August, 42 neighbors turned up for a first cleanup, filling 43 bags in a single morning. Now we want to restore it for good.
We have a plan agreed with the local forestry office, including native species selected by a local botanist.
The area floods more each year, and fish have returned for the first time in a decade after our first cleanup. Restoring it will protect homes and bring back shade.
All the labor is volunteered. We just need materials.
We'll post planting day photos and a count of every sapling planted.
Where the $1,150 goes:
• Native saplings and stakes: $490
• Waste removal and skip hire: $280
• Tools and protective gear: $380
I hope life is good to you.

Good luck. Your post was clear and honest. I have a 5 year old who wants to send good wishes too. All the best.
you're not alone, Daniel. Hope the build day goes well, wish I lived closer. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it. God bless
Praying for you, Daniel. Looking forward to the next update. I'll check back for the next update.
Sending love, Daniel. It takes guts to ask. Well done. I went through something like this 13 years ago and strangers helped me out.
Keep going. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. After 12 years in customer support I know how hard it's to ask for anything. Thinking of Manchester
sending strength, Daniel. Your post was clear and honest. Greetings from Dayton
Hang in there. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. Please keep us posted. Take care.
Thanks for sharing this, Daniel. More neighborhoods should do this. My daughter saw me on my phone and now she wants to give her pocket money. Thinking of Manchester.
