Acacia Creek has been used as an informal dump for years. This August, 53 neighbors turned up for a first cleanup, filling 43 bags in a single morning. Now we want to restore it for good. We have a plan agreed with the district council, including native species selected by a local botanist. The area floods more each year, and fish have returned for the first time in a decade after our first cleanup. Restoring it will protect homes and bring back shade. All the labor is volunteered. We just need materials. We'll post planting day photos and a count of every sapling planted. Where the $2,150 goes: • Waste removal and skip hire: $490 • Native saplings and stakes: $1,350 • Tools and protective gear: $310 Whatever you can give, even just sharing this page, means a lot.

  • thinking of you and your family, Ruth. Gave what I could, wish it was more. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like. God bless.

    • So sorry you're going through this, Ruth. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. I'll check back for the next update. Love from Edinburgh.
