Clean streams for Augsburg: restoring the Liberty wetland
Help us clean and replant the Liberty wetland before the May planting window closes.
Anywhere in the world834 views
The Liberty wetland has been used as an informal dump for years. This February, 61 neighbors turned up for a first cleanup, filling 165 bags in a single morning. Now we want to restore it for good.
We have a plan agreed with the city parks department, including native species selected by a local botanist.
The area floods more each year, and fish have returned for the first time in a decade after our first cleanup. Restoring it will protect homes and bring back shade.
All the labor is volunteered. We just need materials.
We'll post planting day photos and a count of every sapling planted.
Where the $1,400 goes:
• Native saplings and stakes: $450
• Tools and protective gear: $490
• Waste removal and skip hire: $370
• Signage and educational materials: $90
Thank you so much.

Small update. $561 so far, the plan for tools and protective gear is now scheduled.
Good news. Because of your gifts ($291 in total) I met with the nursery and confirmed the amounts. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.
Small update. $246 so far, I made the first payment toward signage and educational materials. - Noah
