Clean air and water for Riyadh: restoring Union Creek
Help us clean and replant Union Creek before the June planting window closes.
🇸🇦 Saudi Arabia2,639 views
Union Creek has been used as an informal dump for years. This March, 69 neighbors turned up for a first cleanup, filling 100 bags in a single morning. Now we want to restore it for good.
We have a plan agreed with the city parks department, including native species selected by a local botanist.
The area floods more each year, and fish have returned for the first time in a decade after our first cleanup. Restoring it will protect homes and bring back shade.
All the labor is volunteered. We just need materials.
Funds buy saplings, gloves, bags, hire of a skip, and signage.
Where the $1,900 goes:
• Tools and protective gear: $230
• Native saplings and stakes: $1,200
• Waste removal and skip hire: $470
Thanks for reading all this.

Sending good thoughts, Anwar. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. My neighbor in Liverpool donated after I showed her your page.
shared it with a few friends. Wish I lived closer to Pune so I could bring a meal.
is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Anwar
Tools and protective gear is $230 of it. Everything else is listed in the story and nothing outside that list comes out of this page.
Thinking of you, Anwar. Hope this works out for you. I'll check back for the next update. Take care.
you're not alone, Anwar. Gave what I could, wish it was more. Take care.
so sorry you're going through this, Anwar. Gave what I could, wish it was more. We're a small family in Santarém but we're thinking of you. Thinking of Riyadh
