Clean air and water for Puebla: restoring Cedar Creek
A neighborhood-led restoration of Cedar Creek needs $750 for saplings and equipment.
Anywhere in the world821 views
Cedar Creek has been used as an informal dump for years. This May, 89 neighbors turned up for a first cleanup, filling 195 bags in a single morning. Now we want to restore it for good.
We have a plan agreed with the city parks department, including native species selected by a local botanist.
The area floods more each year, and fish have returned for the first time in a decade after our first cleanup. Restoring it will protect homes and bring back shade.
All the labor is volunteered. We just need materials.
We'll post planting day photos and a count of every sapling planted.
Where the $750 goes:
• Native saplings and stakes: $390
• Waste removal and skip hire: $260
• Tools and protective gear: $100
You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.
Updates from Eduardo
Update from Puebla: we've booked the dates and paid the deposit. We're at 38% of the goal. Thank you for believing in us.
Good news. Because of your gifts ($150 in total) I made the first payment toward tools and protective gear. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.

You're not alone. This could happen to any of us. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. Blessings.
Rooting for you, Eduardo. Shared it with a few friends. Don't give up.
