Clean air and water for Medina: restoring the Acacia riverbank
Help us clean and replant the Acacia riverbank before the December planting window closes.
🇸🇦 Saudi Arabia356 views
The Acacia riverbank has been used as an informal dump for years. This August, 31 neighbors turned up for a first cleanup, filling 63 bags in a single morning. Now we want to restore it for good.
We have a plan agreed with the district council, including native species selected by a local botanist.
The area floods more each year, and fish have returned for the first time in a decade after our first cleanup. Restoring it will protect homes and bring back shade.
All the labor is volunteered. We just need materials.
We'll post planting day photos and a count of every sapling planted.
Where the $650 goes:
• Signage and educational materials: $90
• Tools and protective gear: $350
• Waste removal and skip hire: $210
Thank you for reading my story.

keep going. I hope things turn around soon. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry.
stay strong, Khadija. It takes guts to ask. Well done. My daughter saw me on my phone and now she wants to give her pocket money. Love from Kadıköy
