Clean air and water for Coventry: restoring Jacaranda Creek
Volunteers are restoring Jacaranda Creek in Coventry; $1,800 covers saplings, tools and waste removal.

Jacaranda Creek has been used as an informal dump for years. This November, 63 neighbors turned up for a first cleanup, filling 134 bags in a single morning. Now we want to restore it for good.
We have a plan agreed with the city parks department, including native species selected by a local botanist.
The area floods more each year, and fish have returned for the first time in a decade after our first cleanup. Restoring it will protect homes and bring back shade.
All the labor is volunteered. We just need materials.
We'll post planting day photos and a count of every sapling planted.
Where the $1,800 goes:
• Signage and educational materials: $180
• Waste removal and skip hire: $420
• Native saplings and stakes: $1,200

Wanted to say thank you properly. 80% funded and I met with the nursery and confirmed the amounts.
Thank you all. We're at 73% now ($1,310). I'm honestly stunned. I made the first payment toward native saplings and stakes.
Quick update: $260 raised so far (14%). the plan for signage and educational materials is now scheduled. Receipts coming as soon as I have them.
