Clean air and water for Caxias do Sul: restoring the Acacia riverbank
Help us clean and replant the Acacia riverbank before the November planting window closes.
Anywhere in the world1,083 views
The Acacia riverbank has been used as an informal dump for years. This September, 69 neighbors turned up for a first cleanup, filling 123 bags in a single morning. Now we want to restore it for good.
We have a plan agreed with the local forestry office, including native species selected by a local botanist.
The area floods more each year, and fish have returned for the first time in a decade after our first cleanup. Restoring it will protect homes and bring back shade.
All the labor is volunteered. We just need materials.
Funds buy saplings, gloves, bags, hire of a skip, and signage.
Where the $600 goes:
• Tools and protective gear: $105
• Waste removal and skip hire: $175
• Native saplings and stakes: $320
I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.

Best of luck, Bruno. Great idea, hope you get there
Thinking of you and your family. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. After 12 years in teaching I know how hard it's to ask for anything. Take care.
keep going. Your post was clear and honest. Put this on a community board in Jalandhar this morning.
