I live with a rare neuromuscular condition. My occupational therapist at the Ribeirão Preto Rehabilitation Centre has assessed me and recommended a specialist standing frame. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $1,500.
My current equipment is 12 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined me to home for 8 weeks.
With the right equipment I could go to school independently. It would change my everyday life and my ability to work from home.
We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest.
Funds go toward the equipment, delivery, fitting and a year of servicing.
Where the $1,500 goes:
• specialist standing frame: $1,300
• Fitting and training sessions: $85
• Delivery and set-up: $65
• First-year servicing plan: $50
