Clara needs a powered wheelchair - help us make it happen
Clara needs a powered wheelchair that the health system won't fund; the cost is $3,250.

I live with profound hearing loss. My occupational therapist at Düsseldorf General Hospital has assessed me and recommended a powered wheelchair. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $3,250.
My current equipment is 10 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined me to home for 3 weeks.
With the right equipment I could go to school independently. It would change my everyday life and my ability to work from home.
We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest.
Funds go toward the equipment, delivery, fitting and a year of servicing.
Where the $3,250 goes:
• powered wheelchair: $2,750
• Fitting and training sessions: $125
• Delivery and set-up: $180
• First-year servicing plan: $195
Thank you for reading my story.
Updates from Clara
Good news. Because of your gifts ($15 in total) I made the first payment toward first-year servicing plan. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.

I work in healthcare and wanted you to know people are on your side. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. Thinking of Düsseldorf
