Chukwuemeka needs my pickup repaired to get back to work in Lagos
Chukwuemeka drives for a living in Lagos, and a broken engine head gasket has stopped all income for 4 weeks.
🇳🇬 Lagos, Nigeria173 views
I make my living with my pickup. 4 weeks ago the engine head gasket failed, and the mechanic says the repair will cost $200. Without the vehicle I earn nothing.
I have been borrowing from friends to pay rent, and now I have run out of people to ask.
I support my 4 children. Before the breakdown I worked eleven hours a day, six days a week. I have been offered extra shifts for the next six months if I can just get the vehicle working.
I have a written estimate from a certified mechanic and will upload it here.
All money will go toward the parts and labor on the estimate, with a small amount for road tax and insurance renewal.
Where the $200 goes:
• engine head gasket replacement (parts): $150
• Road tax and insurance renewal: $20
• Labor charges: $30
I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.

So sorry you're going through this, Chukwuemeka. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Our whole street has been following this since the weekend. Blessings.
Keep going. Small businesses are the heart of Lagos. Hope you're open again soon. Sent it to 27 people at work.
Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Chukwuemeka!
It's all in the list in the story. engine head gasket replacement (parts) is the big one at $150, I'll post a receipt when it's paid. Let me know if you want more detail.
