Charmaine's hip replacement surgery can't wait - please help us cover the bill
After a large ovarian cyst, Charmaine was cleared for hip replacement surgery, but the bill is more than we can manage.

In August I was diagnosed with a large ovarian cyst. My surgeon at Manila General Hospital recommended hip replacement surgery, and I have been placed on the schedule for November. The hospital's financial office gave me a written estimate of $1,000, and after what our health plan will pay, I'm still $800 short.
Doctors at Manila General Hospital told me a large ovarian cyst will get worse without hip replacement surgery. I work as a market vendor, and I have saved what I can, but the estimate of $1,000 is far beyond what I've.
Until the surgery I can't work full days, and my hours as a market vendor have already been cut. Every week of waiting means more pain and a bigger risk.
Rehabilitation is expected to take about 7 weeks. I'll not be able to look after the children alone during that time, so this has become a financial emergency as well as a medical one.
I'll pay the hospital and pharmacy directly and post every receipt in the updates section.
Where the $800 goes:
• Physiotherapy sessions: $85
• Travel and lodging for the family: $70
• Hospital stay (3 nights): $600
• Post-operative medication: $45
