Chao is facing prostate cancer and the cost of treatment, travel and care at home is far beyond what the family can cover.

Chao was diagnosed with prostate cancer in April. The oncology team at San Francisco Regional Medical Center has planned 12 rounds of treatment, starting in June. He will be away from work for about 10 weeks. Chao is 41, worked as a tailor until April, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to San Francisco Regional Medical Center 3 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly. We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders. I'll post every invoice and receipt as an update so donors can follow where each gift goes. Where the $11,100 goes: • Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $6,750 • Scans and lab work: $1,400 • Transport to San Francisco Regional Medical Center: $520 • Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $670 • Household costs while unable to work: $1,760 Thank you so much.
