Chang-min's knee replacement surgery can't wait - please help us cover the bill
A scheduled knee replacement surgery in September is out of reach without help covering $7,300 of the cost.

Chang-min was diagnosed with a deviated septum causing chronic infections in June. The surgeon at Houston University Hospital recommended knee replacement surgery, and He is scheduled for September. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $9,250, and after what my employer's plan will pay we're still $7,300 short.
my brother has been in and out of Houston University Hospital since June. The doctors say a deviated septum causing chronic infections will get worse without knee replacement surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $9,250 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Chang-min struggles with daily life and can't lift anything heavy. His family has taken turns caring for him, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
The recovery period is expected to take about 10 weeks. During that time Chang-min won't be able to lift anything heavy, so the costs keep growing.
I'll pay the hospital and pharmacy directly and post every receipt in the updates section.
Where the $7,300 goes:
• Surgeon and anesthesia fees: $3,050
• Hospital stay (2 nights): $2,550
• Pre-operative tests and imaging: $630
• Post-operative medication: $170
• Physiotherapy sessions: $580
• Travel and lodging for the family: $320

Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Chang-min.
It's all in the list in the story. surgeon and anesthesia fees is the big one at $3,050, I'll post a receipt when it's paid. Good question.
Hang in there, Min-seo. Shared it with a few friends.
Hang in there. Hope this works out for you. My neighbor in Jeddah donated after I showed her your page. Thinking of Houston.
