Giza
For ten years the neighborhood has asked for a rainwater harvesting system. This year a group of 23 volunteers, including two retired carpenters, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Cedar Primary School, but no funding. We have received donated a pump, and the remaining cost is $600. It will serve about 592 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in July and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered. Where the $600 goes: • Materials: $480 • Permits and inspections: $20 • Safety equipment and signage: $40 • Tools hire and delivery: $60 Every share and every dollar helps.

Updates from Nasser

  1. Wanted to say thank you properly. 16% funded and I met with the suppliers and confirmed the amounts.

  2. Small update. $46 so far, I made the first payment toward safety equipment and signage.
