Cedar Primary School needs a free library and reading room - Cláudia's neighborhood project
Volunteers in Santos are raising $800 for a free library and reading room at Cedar Primary School.

For ten years the neighborhood has asked for a free library and reading room. This year a group of 19 volunteers, including the parish youth group, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Cedar Primary School, but no funding.
We have received donated volunteer hours worth about $110, and the remaining cost is $800.
It will serve about 227 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in August and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $800 goes:
• Materials: $570
• Permits and inspections: $45
• Safety equipment and signage: $45
• Tools hire and delivery: $140
I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.

Sending good thoughts, Cláudia. This could happen to any of us. We're a small family in Boston but we're thinking of you.
praying for you, Cláudia. Hope the build day goes well, wish I lived closer. My husband and I read this together. Thinking of Santos.
take care, Cláudia. Hope the build day goes well, wish I lived closer. Love from Lalitpur.
So sorry you're going through this. More neighborhoods should do this. I'll check back for the next update
so sorry you're going through this, Cláudia. Looking forward to the next update. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry.
