Cataract surgery for Saif: covering what insurance won't
A scheduled cataract surgery in December is out of reach without help covering $600 of the cost.

Saif was diagnosed with severe cataracts in both eyes in September. The surgeon at Chattogram Orthopedic Institute recommended cataract surgery, and He is scheduled for December. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $860, and after what the public health scheme will pay we're still $600 short.
my brother has been in and out of Chattogram Orthopedic Institute since September. The doctors say severe cataracts in both eyes will get worse without cataract surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $860 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Saif struggles with daily life and can't drive. His family has taken turns caring for him, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
The recovery period is expected to take about 4 weeks. During that time Saif won't be able to drive, so the costs keep growing.

Post-operative medication is $55 of it. Everything else is listed in the story and nothing outside that list comes out of this page.
